DGP rewards policeman for thwarting weapon snatching bid | KNO

Director General of Police, Dr. S.P. Vaid has accorded to the grant of Commendation Certificate Class -1st along with cash reward of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) in favour of Sgct. Farooq Ahmed NO. 495/BD for showing presence of mind, exemplary courage and commitment towards his duties while repulsing the rifle snatching attempt by miscreants on August 7,2017 at J&K Bank Branch Charar-i-Sharief.

As has been reported earlier that on August 7, 2017 afternoon, three unknown persons tried to snatch weapon from a cop deployed as guard at bank in Charar-i-Sharief. The vigilant policeman deployed at the guard foiled their attempt. The CCTV footage shows the exemplary valour exhibited by the said policeman.


Budgam police has released the photographs of the three people involved in the weapon snatching bid and sought information about them.
